Drivers get a portion of ride fees from passengers. Money is deposited into your account each week automatically, or you can cash out instantly with Express Pay.

Is Lyft safe?

Our community’s safety is our top priority. We run extensive background checks on drivers, provide up to $1M commercial automobile liability policy, and designed numerous safety features into our app. Passengers must provide a valid credit card and phone number for identity verification purposes. Drivers and passengers also rate each other at the end of a ride, so that we’re always upholding our high community standards.

What is the maximum I can make on a trip?

The maximum allowed for one trip in the New Jersey Market is $200. Please keep in mind that trips that cost more than $200 have a higher chance of being potential fraud and WILL NOT be paid out over $200.

Can I accept cash tips?

For your own safety as well as passenger safety, Lyft has a tipping option in the application. It is against TOS to accept any cash tips or cash payment for a trip and are grounds for deactivation.

Can a passenger request multiple stops in one trip?

Passengers do have the ability to request multiple stops in one trip. To do so, the passenger must change the location of the stop in his/her passenger application.

Can passengers on Lyft Line trips make multiple stops or change destination?

Lyft Line is very specifically designed to pick up to two different passengers going in the same direction. A predetermined destination can not be changed as it may affect passenger pick-ups assigned for the same trip.

What do I do if the passenger damages my car?

If a passenger causes any damage to your vehicle (spills, stains, body damage....), please take multiple pictures documenting the damage and message Lyft Customer Support with complete details.

What if I get a series of tickets related to working for Lyft?

If you receive a ticket from any ordinance regarding rideshare, please call the Critical Response Line 855-865-9553 and take photos of the tickets.
